Cat MacLean

Cat MacLean is a senior solicitor in the Litigation and Employment Groups at MBM Commercial. She holds an LLB (Hons) in English Law and French Law from the University of Leicester; a Diplome d’Etudes Juridiques Francaises from the Universite Robert Schumann in Strasbourg; and an LLB in Scots Law from the University of Edinburgh.
Cat trained at Simpson & Marwick and worked there after qualifying. In 1998 she joined the Scottish bar and practised as an Advocate for 10 years.
Whilst Cat has a wealth of experience appearing in the Sheriff Court, the Outer House of the Court of Session and in the Appeal Court of the Inner House, Cat is also focussed on pragmatic and commercially driven solutions. She has a particular interest in alternative dispute resolution and in 2006 she qualified as a Mediator. She has considerable experience of mediating commercial disputes and in 2007 achieved accreditation as a Scottish Mediation Network Mediator. She is a panel member of The Mediation Group and provides seminars on mediation.
